Who are the Lions?
Since 1940 the Leonardtown Lions Club has played an active and vital role in serving first the citizens of St. Mary's county and then the world. Our charity funds provide needed funds for the following deserving programs:
Lions Camp Merrick -summer camp for children
Vision testing and eye glasses for the needy
Leader eye dogs for the visually impaired or blind
Used eye glasses and hearing aid collections
Lions Vision Research Foundation -Wilmer Eye Institute
Hospice of St. Mary's
Leonardtown Volunteer Fire Department
Leonardtown Volunteer Rescue Squad
Health Share of St. Mary's County
College scholarships for loca1students
Fire and Rescue Appreciation Day
The St. Mary’s County Memorial Committee and War Memorials in the Leonardtown Square
Vision and Hearing Screening for Students
We are very proud of the fact that 100% of charity funds gained from our fund raisers such as the Crab Festival go directly to charities. Club expenses are paid by the member's dues, so every dollar donated for charity, goes for charity. Sound like something you'd like to be a part of?
